Educating employees about the winds of change

Ventient Energy is one of Europe’s leading sustainable-energy businesses, owning and operating a large number of wind farms across six different countries. The business has undergone a period of accelerated growth, following a series of strategic M&As. The company’s acquisition of Portuguese wind farm operator, Iberwind, in October 2020 added a further 31 wind farms to its portfolio and expanded its team. Ventient approached Bladonmore to help engage with the newly-combined employee base to make sure they were aligned behind a single identity and understood the business structure.

Approach

Bladonmore designed, drafted and produced a stylised pocketbook travel guide, gifted to all Ventient staff to help them connect with the business. It playfully captured the size and scale of the combined entity and included a message from the leadership team.

We also produced two onboarding films, ‘Who We Are’ and ‘How We Work’, to educate employees about the structure of the business, its different departments and to inspire employees to get behind Ventient’s purpose, values and strategic aim. Both films were produced in English and Portuguese and included a mix of live action shots, comped graphics and animation. The ‘Who We Are’ film was also produced to help position the business with an external audience and is a central piece of content on its corporate website.

Result

Both the travel guide and the films were well received internally and have helped employees to engage with the business’ future plans. Following the success of these materials, we were asked to produce a ‘2020 Journey’ film that looked back on the achievements and milestones of a year full of challenges and opportunity.
