New look for responsible investing

The Church of England is a leading institution for ethical and responsible investment. Its National Investing Bodies (the NIBs), made up of the Church Commissioners for England, the Church of England Pensions Board and the CBF Church of England Funds (CCLA), are responsible for managing over £12 bn. As part of its commitment to support the Paris Agreement, the NIBs needed to report on the actions it had taken to strengthen its own – and the broader investor community’s – efforts to tackle climate change. The report was targeted at the Church’s General Synod but would also be accessible for external audiences online.

Approach

Our challenge was to create a visual identity for the report that captured the Church’s commitment to responsible investing, bringing together three separate entities within a single identity and providing a clear structure for the content.

We started by exploring different design concepts, using a variety of themes and styles to bring the story to life. With an agreed approach, we began to build out the design across the full report, developing visual codes to support navigation, creating simple graphics and charts to present key information and integrating a bold photography style across the pages. We also helped to create a clear hierarchy for the messaging, advising on the best way to break down and structure the copy.

Result

The report was successfully launched within a matter of weeks of Bladonmore being brought on board.

Our client was extremely pleased with the quality of the report and the management of the process, working within extremely tight time scales and addressing feedback from multiple stakeholders.
