Rallying employees for a return to growth in the industrials sector

Rolls-Royce has been delivering excellence in engineering for over a century. But for the first time in a decade, it faced the challenge of not growing profitably. It needed to overcome challenges inherent within its large and diverse business to rally its people around a new strategy for returning to growth.

Approach

We worked with the senior leadership to develop a compelling set of messages and materials that enabled people across the business to understand easily the new strategy and their role in helping Rolls-Royce return to growth.

  • Audited existing materials and facilitated a series of workshops with senior leaders
  • Using proof points from workshops, developed a strategic narrative
  • Brought the strategy to life through infographics, narrative coaching and a three-minute animation

The strategy and supporting communications were used across the business to communicate with over 22,000 employees across 30 offices. Engagement was so positive that the materials were used as a framework for wider divisional and operational strategies.
