Knowing and cutting our climate impact

We’re doing the right things as a business, so we have to take responsibility for our climate impact.

In 2023 we did our first detailed carbon footprint exercise, but were already taking action because we already knew where the big impacts were.

Travel is our biggest impact

In our business, travel is by far the biggest source of emissions. We fly for important client meetings, to run media coaching sessions and oversee film shoots.

  • Business travel
  • Purchased goods and services
  • Working from home
  • Capital goods
  • Commuting
  • Electricity and heat
  • Scope 3
  • Scope 2

We’re already cutting travel emissions

For years, we’ve been hiring local film crews to avoid flying people out. Where possible, we chose virtual over in person meetings; even so, flying is inevitable.

In 2024, we’ve switched to a travel booking system that shows the carbon impact of different modes of travel, air carriers and flight routes. So while we can’t stop flying, we can choose the best option available.

Our data, webhosting and head office all run on renewables

We use Google Cloud to host our data and websites, which is run on clean energy. The servers on which we host our back-up facilities are also run on renewables, as is our London office. Our US office isn’t 100% renewably powered yet, but the landlord is working on it.

Climate is part of our sustainability strategy

Climate is a critical area of our impact to manage, but there are more. They’re set out in our sustainability strategy.
