Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking policy

Bladonmore strives to safeguard its business and supply chain from any practices of modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not engage in any activity connected with modern slavery and we will collaborate fully with our partners and suppliers to embed respect for human rights.

Why we have this policy

It is important to Bladonmore, and the people that work here, that we ensure we trade ethically and source responsibly. That means that we want to actively work to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking throughout our organization.

Modern slavery is the exploitation of an individual by others for personal or commercial gain, including human trafficking, forced labour and debt bondage, according to Anti-Slavery International. It institutionalizes inequality, fuels corruption and illicit financial flows, disrupts the economy, and harms the environment.

It is important that we make our position clear for all our stakeholders, outlining the actions that we take to prevent modern slavery in any part of our business and our supply chain. This policy provides that outline, stating our commitments, how we make them happen, and who is responsible within the organization.

How we make sure we act on our policy

To make sure that everyone in the business understands the risks of modern slavery in our supply chain, what warning signals and red flags to look for, and how to respond to instances where these red flags appear, we provide training to all employees.

This training is first taken by new starters through our e-learning portal, with refresher courses provided year on year to existing employees. We also require our business partners to provide their staff and suppliers with training on modern slavery, to ensure this pushes out into our supply chain.

We also track our progress using KPIs to measure how effective we have been in preventing modern slavery. We do this by evaluating compliance with our procurement procedures at least once a year and ensuring that these procedures stay relevant to the needs of our business.

Our commitments

We are committed to conducting our global business with the utmost integrity and in full compliance with all applicable laws. To ensure we live up to this commitment, we have systems in place to:

  • Identify and assess potential risk areas.
  • Monitor potential risk areas in our supply chains.
  • Protect whistle-blowers.

Due diligence

Our employment processes include verification of the legal right to work in each of our territories for all prospective and current employees. We review our recruitment practices to ensure fairness, equity and compliance at all times.
