RIT’s new website positions the investment trust as a ‘timeless investment’, highlighting its heritage and points of difference in a way that supports its purpose: to grow investor wealth meaningfully over time, through a diversified and resilient global portfolio.

Context

RIT Capital Partners (RIT) was founded by Lord Jacob Rothschild and is one of the UK’s largest investment trusts. Listed on the London Stock Exchange’s FTSE250 index, it has total assets of approx. £4 billion. The Rothschild family remain the largest shareholder.

Following a period of change and with a new CEO at the helm, RIT sought to refresh its website – a key touchpoint for investors, media, external partners and other stakeholders.

Approach

We understood that the key to developing a successful website was not only to ensure smooth and intuitive functionality, but also to make sure there was a clear narrative thread running through it – across words and visuals.

In other words, the new website had to be more than a collection of information: it had to be a genuine story about who RIT is, what makes it different, and how it creates meaningful value for investors.

We developed a brand positioning and narrative – ‘A timeless investment’ –focused on independence of thought, access, quality and meticulous craftsmanship.

Our work was underpinned by a contextual understanding of the industry and 15 interviews across the investment manager and Board. We worked responsively and iteratively with RIT’s team to ensure buy-in at key stages and deliver the site to a tight deadline.
