Etihad puts its leaders through a rigorous simulation, exploring vital and complex communication challenges

Context

Etihad Airways is one of the highest profile airlines in the world. It wanted to run a critical crisis exercise for its senior management team to simulate crisis situations and prepare for their communications response to a wide range of stakeholders.

The true value of these simulations comes from making them as real as possible. That is why we used our full skillset, across film, content and design to create an immersive experience in which to practice.

Approach

We designed and produced a series of simulated crisis scenarios using social media, filmed media and press reports. These scenarios were tailored to the specific roles of the senior management team taking part in the training.

We analysed and updated the crisis communications plans and handbook, then prepared the management team to execute their crisis strategy during interactions with investors and the media.

Results

Our work enabled a more robust, consistent and structured crisis response.
