Bladonmore’s purposeful use of AI recognised with two Gold Awards

Bladonmore has won two golds at the 2026 EVCOM Clarion Awards for its work with creative mental health charity PoetsIN.
The project took top honors in the ‘AI for Good’ and ‘Live: Health and Wellbeing’ categories, recognizing a film that used AI with purpose: helping to tell sensitive, real-life stories in a way that protected the people behind them while creating a powerful and engaging viewing experience.
Working with PoetsIN, the team set out to explain the charity’s unique approach to mental health support through therapeutic writing and creative expression. The challenge was to communicate deeply personal experiences without compromising the anonymity or dignity of those involved. By combining live-action filmmaking with carefully art-directed AI-generated visuals, the film brought those experiences to life in a way that traditional production methods simply couldn’t.
‘There’s a lot of conversation around AI in our industry, but the technology should never be the story,’ says Rory Boswell, Executive Producer at Bladonmore. ‘Its value comes from solving genuine creative challenges. In this project, AI helped us tell authentic human stories safely and responsibly, helping the audience to connect emotionally while protecting the people at the heart of them.’
The project demonstrates how emerging technology can enhance creativity when it’s led by a clear communications objective. Rather than using AI as a creative shortcut, the team used it to visualize emotional experiences that couldn’t otherwise be shown, creating a film that helps audiences better understand both the realities of mental health and the life-changing work PoetsIN does every day. Every AI-generated sequence was carefully developed, art directed and curated to ensure it remained emotionally truthful and sensitive to the subject matter.
The film has already made a measurable impact for the charity, contributing around £15,000 in fundraising alongside a further £6,000 through school partnerships and programs. Just as importantly, it has become a core communications asset, helping PoetsIN explain its work to new audiences and build greater understanding of the role creative expression can play in supporting mental health
‘You are so talented and bloody nice people too. You were a pleasure to be handled by. Thank you for everything and again, CONGRATULATIONS!’ says Paul Chambers, Co-Founder of the charity.
Congratulations to the entire PoetsIN team on this well-deserved recognition.
