Second year of #auguts campaign wins platinum at Marcom awards

Bladonmore and BRUK’s work to break the taboo around poo won a platinum award for best non-profit film last night.

After a successful and award winning first year running the #auguts campaign, BRUK invited Bladonmore to come back and do it again.

This year, the focus was on fundraising for the charity to continue its important research. The connection between researchers and patient is one of the things that makes BRUK truly special as a charity. The film highlighted these connections, pairing relevant patients with specialist researchers to have conversations about the struggles of bowel diseases and the difficulty in finding funding. The conversations were candid and natural, an unscripted meeting between two people. The use of a plain backdrop kept the focus on the all-important conversations.

The campaign, which shared the film on social media, generated fantastic results to build on the success of the previous year.

  • In the month of August BRUK had 162,000 visitors compared to 54,000 in 2022. The highest number of web users this year with 2,744 on one day, compared to 400 in 2022.
  • On Facebook in the month BRUK had 21,539 people click on the content compared to 2022 when 9,178 did.
