Providing clarity for a complex business

ABB is a Swiss-Swedish technology and engineering company, headquartered in Zurich. In 2019, it introduced a new strategy to focus on four business areas: Electrification; Industrial automation; Robotics & Discrete Automation; and Motion. ABB held three investor days; the first introduced the strategy and then two subsequent events followed for the Electrification and the Robotics & Discrete Automation divisions. Bladonmore supported numerous business leaders ahead of these communications.

Approach

We worked with ABB’s leaders, the communications and investor relations teams across seven countries, to develop and deliver clear and compelling investment narratives at these events.

The work included:

• Message and presentation development;
• Script writing;
• Performance coaching for around 25 speakers
delivering keynote presentations, running
interactive kiosks, and talking to the media.

Result

Each event had a clear narrative thread running through all of the presentations that clarified recent performance, the strategy and the opportunities for the group and for each division. Bladonmore’s work helped all speakers to deliver their messaging with confidence and conviction. Investors and the media gained deeper understanding or the ABB strategy, what sets it apart and its path for growth.
